The goal of the Chugach Small Hydro Project (CSHP) is to tap small hydropower sites in South-Central Alaska. The area under study includes not only the Chugach Range, but also the Kenai Peninsula and Talkeetna Mountains. Parts of the Chugach Range include the world's northernmost rainforest, including the area around Girdwood. The CSHP was launched by members of SES, though seeks to include as many interested stakeholders as possible.
